Shimmery Shoes

Today's find is all thanks to www.zulily.com. I often scan this website for good deals when I found the cutest little beaded shoes for little girls. They are by Coastal Projections who don't have a company website that I know of. If you find a link let me know and I'll post it but for now the most I can tell you is search for Coastal Projections Shoes on your search engine and you'll see a number of online shops that sell these little treasures. For now, enjoy these pictures of a few of my favorites:

I do not own or claim credit for any of these pictures.

L'Objet Spice Jewels

Shiny Things! I was introduced to these beautiful little salt/pepper shakers by Kourtney Kardashian, she invited me over to her house and gave me a tour of her kitchen yesterday...LOL...Just kidding, she posted about them on her blog and put a link up on Facebook. Heehee but who cares how I discovered them, the important thing is that I discovered them! Wouldn't you love these jeweled little things sitting on your table top? And crazy thing is these aren't even my favorites, I can't copy n paste images off of the L'Objet website so I was forced to use images I could collect on the web. Mega Manicures

For most women, a manicure is one of the best ways to relax and unwind and during the process you end up with amazing looking nails. What we DON'T normally think of though, are these extreme manicures below:

Behold the "Iced Manicure"! They say diamonds are a girls best friend, and what better way to prove it than to have 10 carats worth of diamonds adhered to the tips of your nails? At $51,000 the Iced Manicure is the world's most expensive manicure. For more information on the Iced Manicure visit:  http://www.cherish-me.com/

Next on the list are 3D nails. Basically they are your normal manicure/acrylics but they are decorated w/ 3D decors to add a little more POP and texture. I love the look of these. Some may find it a bit too much but I think it looks very feminine and I love girly things. This particular artist does an amazing job. To check out more of her work click the following link:  http://beutifulnailpainting.blogspot.com/search/label/3D

Just as shiny and flashy as the Ice Manicure but it doesn't cost you your mortgage. The Glitter Gel Manicure is an easy way for the average woman to sport some bling bling on their finger tips. It's one of the more affordable manicures (as far as special manis go) and available at a lot more places than the 3D mani or the Iced Mani. This picture was taken from the following blog. She actually has 3 examples of the Glitter Gel look and they are all really cute (one has a bit of 3D decor on it) Check it out by following this link: http://laurastylez.com/site/2010/12/all-about-nails/

Cakes By Angela

If you're on a diet and you live near Barksdale Air Force Base you DON'T want to look at the pictures below because I assure you, this cake tastes as good as it looks. Angela Morrison is an Air Force Wife slash Baker Extraordinaire. Her cakes come in a plethora of flavors, from traditional vanilla (which I've personally tried and can not say enough good things about) to carrot cake, rum cake, strawberry butter cream filling, lemon curd fillings. You name it, she can make it. I am always hesitant about eating fondant cakes because they can be dry and the frosting can taste chalky. But Angela's cakes are not only moist and flavorful, the actual fondant is sweet and soft. I ordered a Little Einsteins birthday cake for my boys from her and everyone loved the cake. I don't think anyone threw the fondant away in the trash. They could cut straight through the frosting, into the cake w/ their forks and enjoy the cake as a whole instead dissecting it and eating only the cake part. (I've done that before, it's NOT fun. What a waste of money to buy a fondant cake and have to peel the fondant and frosting off the cake as you eat it because it tastes horrible.)

Spotlight on a Friend

This Easter a close family friend of ours, Rebecca Davis made a dress for my daughter to wear. Becki is an avid crafter of sorts as well as a photographer. She's a fellow Army wife with 3 kids in row (Irish Triplets, as I like to call my babies.). So don't ask me how she pulls it off but she does and she does an amazing job on all her projects. I don't know if I could ever do it. Oh and did I mention she's a college student as well? Wow. Big props to Super Mom. I actually look up to her and she's younger than me! LOL! Well I really wanted to show off the dress she made for Taylor because it's just too cute.

This is my little Taylor Tot eating breakfast in her Easter Dress. It came w/ a matching headband. All crochet by my good friend Rebecca Davis.

The straps of the dress are held in place by Flower Snap Buttons. The belt is removable and held in place w/ a Flower Snap Button and the bunny tail at the back of the dress is also removable.

Special thanks to Becki from Taylor and Me. We love your work and we can't wait to see more of your future creations!

Butterfly Garden

There's a new commercial on tv that seems to come on a lot. My Butterfly Garden. My kids seems to really like the idea and guess what? I do too! Just last night I was watching TLC's "Quints by Surprise".   Mainly because I kept wondering "How many reality shows about muliples is TLC going to air? " But anyway, as usual I digress. I was watching the show and they took the kids to a butterfly garden and I thought that was the coolest thing ever. I love butterflies. There's something almost magical about them. Like little fairies flying about in the air.

Soooo as I was saying, I like butterflies, they showed butterflies on tv last night, I've been seeing this Butterfly Garden commercial a lot recently. Kids like it, I like it, maybe you'll like it too. You raise a few caterpillars in a small container, they form cocoons, place them in the "Butterfly Garden" (looks like a miniature pop up hamper) and watch the butterflies fly around in the tent when they merge from their cocoons.

Here's a link that sells Live Butterfly Gardens. I see the "Creature Peeper" on their website too. I actually got my boys one of those for Christmas and they love it so I think the butterfly garden will be promising too.
